Who would've thunk that the moment I begin to get serious about having a child, not to mention begin a blog on the subject, I meet someone.
I suppose many people would say it's fate. The ole' "just when you give up, stop worrying, that's when it will happen." I never thought my life really worked that way though.
Let's back up. I've only been on 3 dates with James. But oh, they have been good dates. There is at the very least boyfriend potential here. Almost certain boyfriend-dom. And I have been single for 5 years. F-I-V-E . Y-E-A-R-S.
Still, there's no point getting ahead of myself here. As I've said in many a post, I need to be serious about having a child now, since life is uncertain, especially when it comes to men. Let me rephrase that. MY life is very, very uncertain when it comes to men.
And honestly, it's very hard to pursue both things at the same time. How would most men take the information that I'm going through artificial insemination in order to have a child? Sounds like kind of a deal breaker to me.
Things get complicated.

Oy, does that sound a bit complicated. Sending out hopes for wise thoughts during this time. Hope things work out the way that you want them to in all directions.
hmmmmm....interesting. I guess if I was in your shoes I would keep on the path of ttc and if this guy ends up being a real deal then I would slowly talk about it with him. I told a guy on the 3rd date that I was serious about starting a family and I never heard form him again. heh. Sadly I decided to stop dating altogether while ttc. (plus that whole living with your Mother & Grandmother thing is SO not hawt!)
Three dates!?! That's great! Did you have to buy a new '3rd date outfit'? It does sound like you are in a bit of a pickle! Good luck!
I have a total crush on a guy right now as I'm becoming visibly pregnant. It certainly does complicate things! But I agree with Calliope...it sounds like it is totally worth seeing where things go with James...and if they continue to progress, you can slowly introduce the idea to him? In the meantime, ENJOY IT!!! :)
Complicated - Isn't that just the way things work! If it was me I would continue to explore my SMC options and persue the boy. 5 years is a long time so enjoy the giggly fun of new dating. No need to get all serious just yet and tell him that your window shopping for sperm.
